Dayrunner ("Dayrunner", "we", "our", "us") provides the digital day planner for solo field service pros. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the Dayrunner website and web application (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a secure hash by our authentication provider).
- Business information. Your business name and any profile details you add in Settings.
- Client and job data. The client records, job details, prices, notes, photos, signatures, and invoices you enter or upload to the Service. This data belongs to you; we process it only to operate the Service.
- Payment information. We do not store credit card numbers. Subscription and payment-link transactions are processed by Stripe, which collects and handles payment details under its own privacy policy.
- Usage information. Basic technical data such as browser type, device type, and pages visited, used to operate and improve the Service.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide, maintain, and secure the Service, including scheduling, invoicing, and payment-link generation.
- To process your subscription and manage your billing.
- To communicate with you about your account, billing, and Service updates.
- To improve the Service, detect and prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information or your clients' information. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Sharing & Disclosure
We share information only as needed to run the Service or as required by law:
- Service providers. Our hosting and database provider (Supabase/Postgres) stores your data, and Stripe processes payments. Each provider is bound by its own security and privacy obligations.
- Your customers. Payment links and invoice PDFs you generate are shared with your customers at your direction.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Dayrunner, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If Dayrunner is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
- We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
- You can delete individual clients and jobs at any time. To delete your entire account and all associated data, contact us at support@dayrunner.app.
- If your subscription lapses and remains unpaid past the grace period, your account and its data are permanently deleted.
- Backups may retain data for a limited additional period for disaster-recovery purposes.
5. Security
- Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
- All traffic to the Service is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
- Each account's data is isolated, and database access is protected by row-level security.
- While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.
6. Your Rights & Choices
- You can access, correct, and update your account and business information at any time in Settings.
- You can export or remove your data from the Service as described above.
- Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable law, such as requesting a copy of your data, restricting processing, or requesting deletion. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@dayrunner.app, and we will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies & Local Storage
- We use browser local storage to remember your theme preference and keep you signed in.
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics cookies.
- Payment pages hosted by Stripe may set their own cookies under Stripe's privacy policy.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is intended for adults operating businesses and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
Our infrastructure is hosted in the United States. If you use the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version here with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
